You will find 11 different species of Galapagos Tortoises on the Islands, there were previously 14 however 3 species recently became extinct. Although recently 3 of these species became extinct.

The Pacific Green Turtle is the only sea turtle that has its home on the Galapagos Islands. If you go in the first part of the year you will be able to find these turtles laying their eggs on the beach.

The Galapagos Islands also contains lot of species of lizards one of which can be found living in the ocean. You will find the other lizards on land eating cactus plants.

Most people wouldn’t of thought of penguins living on the Galapagos Islands but there they are. These are the only penguins that you can find near to the line of the equator.
