What To Consider When Choosing An LED Dive Light
LED dive lights can make diving a very fun experience. They will make seeing things underwater more clear and easy. Here are some basic things to look at when buying an LED dive light. If you can understand the basics of what to look for when buying one, it will make the process easy.
What size of LED dive light to buy if you are a beginner:
For all inexperienced divers, usually lights that are not as large are better. Many lights that beginners enjoy buying are very small and can fit in their hands like small flash lights. Some lights can even be strapped to a persons arm for hands free diving. There are some that are a little more expensive that are like head bands so the light follows where ever your eyes look. Because your vision is not as large when you are just learning to dive, smaller lights are good to use.
More experienced divers light size:
If you do have experience, some of the larger lights are in the shape of large guns and are very powerful and allows you to see all around you. There are also the gun type lights that are the size of large hand guns and they look like them as well. They are bright and can show a large area and they are very popular for seeing fish and wildlife. There are also large LED dive lights that are as large as a persons leg and sometimes they need two arms to hold onto. These are usually used by expert divers or even professionals doing research.
What lights are made of:
There are many differences to the shapes of these dive torches, but also in the material that they are made of. Many are made of rubberized material and some are made of hard plastic. The more expensive lights are made of very durable but light weight plastic.
Less important factors when buying an LED dive light:
Some people are more into what the light looks like than others. They come in various shapes and many different colors. Some enjoy the more unique shapes that are eye catching, and some enjoy the basic flashlight of hand gun sizes. Color can also be a factor with some enjoying the more basic colors, while others enjoy the very bright colors to make it easy to find in the water if they drop it.
