Rosemont Tour in Tucson Arizona

Rosemont Copper Company provides tours to all who want to see the creation of a copper mine coming to the region area just near outside of Tucson.  You will see cattle grazing, in-depth plans of how the mine is going to be created with minimal impact on the areas surrounding beauty.

It is planned for Rosemont Copper to create the most advanced and comprehensive metal-producing field-operations in the world at this location.  They will set progressive environmental standards for the resource protection, water conservation and land reestablishment which will establish the bar for the balance of the global communities to follow when they are producing the essential resources to allow the world to advance.

What an opportunity for everyone to learn and see what this operation is offering the world right here in Tucson Arizona! Simply reserve a tour, interact with the employees working in the mine environment and you will discover that there is a genuine desire to reclaim the land in a lovely manner rather than unattractive ugly piles of rock waste.

To protect the new growth revegetation and reclamation work effort, Rosemont Copper Company has established a 30,000 acre working cattle ranch about thirty miles south of Tucson, Arizona. The ranching operation is professionally operated by Tom Kay and he will oversee a herd of 500 to five hundred and fifty beef cattle. The Rosemont ranch will have no dairy cows. Tom has years of ranching experience and excells at being a cowboy, working to keep the cattle, equipment and environment all functioning in tip top order.  He knows that society needs copper to function today but he also believes that beauty in the region needs to be portected.  The developmental plans of the company accomplish this with their vision, approach, plans and promises.

Rosemont will be using the newest in natural, non-confined ranching managment ways. Rosemont cattle will be raised in nature environmentally friendly manner with no hormones, no antibiotics and they will be completely range fed.

The revegetation has been developed with the assistance of the University Of Arizona College Of Natural Resources.  They were studied to identify the most suitable plant species for the revegetation following the mining operation.  The 29 seeds selected have a resilient and productive system and are typically available from large-scale commercial seed suppliers and meet the NRCS’s ecological site description.

The cattle operations are necessary to assist in the process of growing and reproducing the seeds.  Since seeds do better if incorporated into the soil so they don’t dehydrate in our desert heat or blow away in our wind so the cattle hooves can mix the seed into the soil.  The eating of the cattle creates textured soil which helps retain water and nutrients.

Not only that but the eating helps to stimulate the growth not only with them grazing but also by walking on weeds and eating weed flowers.  Of course the manure creates benefits of fertilizing the land which helps even in the poor growth areas where an abundance of manure increases microorganisms and supplements the soil fertility.

Rosemont Copper has been actively assisting a number of local groups with their fundraising events.  They have helped in a number of activities such as supplying not only funding assistance but also providing the cow for the Cienega Rotary “Cow Pie Bingo” event where funds assist in both local and international projects.

Rosemont Copper provides free weekly tours of the location that include visits to the geology exploration camp, the historic mining areas, the old quarry, and the weather station. Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 to noon.  This tour will be not only a great opportunity to see the Arizona Mountains and desert but also to learn about the value of copper to our development.  Without copper we probably would not have electricity or would not have a space program.  It’s important to mine this mineral in the most environmentally friendly way possible and Rosemont Copper Mine is working toward succeeding in this and establishing the standard for the rest of the world!

You can arrange for your Rosemont Copper Mine tour by calling Phone: (520) 343-1730 or by going to the ad on www.arizonabeautiful.com and going to the Tucson attractions region.
