My Ten Best Virtually Free Activities In Cairns
You’re in Cairns. You’ve spent all your $$$ doing a skydive or on Brad Pitt lookalikes. More funds won’t appear from nowhere so you will want some free things to do for the rest of your Cairns Holiday.
1. Spend a day in the purpose builtLagoon, no awful crocodiles, no unwanted sharks, none of those jellyfish, just refreshing sparkling water and hot bodies.
2. Bliss out at Crystal Cascades. Rock pool after rock pool, waterfall after waterfall. Relaxed world heritage rainforest setting.
3. Stroll the Red Arrow walk for amazing views of Cairns. Or jog, thats what some Cairns people do. If it’s currently summer, you may want to doing this one in the late afternoon.
4. Enjoy a dip and a cool drink at Lake Placid. The swims free, the drinks aren’t too expensive. The atmosphere is priceless. The whitewater rafters complete their trips here. If you do want to spend a couple of $$$ you can hire a canoe and have a look at the Barron River rapids.
5. Boat down the Mulgrave from Ross & Locke reserve to Greenpatch. If you haven’t got a boat blow up an innertube.
6. Watch the reef trips return at the Marina. And play spot the most sunburnt backpacker.
7. Go for a Wednesday afternoon sail with the Cairns Cruising Yacht Club. If they need help, it’s free.
8. Wander from Holloways Beach to Yorkeys Knob. Much better with a loved one.
9. Climb Walsh’s Pyramid for amazing views andamazing scenery. It’s incredibly steep and long, but it’s worth it.
10.Hike up the Barron Gorge, and see the Barron waterfalls from the bottom, and check out the backpackers at the top wondering how to get where you are.
I hope this list helps you entertain yourself if you find yourself pennyless in Cairns, or maybe it even made you think of coming to Cairns.
