If You Had A Choice, Where Would You Go On Holiday?

Now that the nights are drawing in and the weather is looking rather grey and gloomy, people are beginning to think about where they might be able to get a bit of holiday sunshine next summer and planning exactly where they should be travelling to.

Some people always seem to return to their favourite hotel year after year.  For example look at Michael and Mary Hirst.  They are both in their 70’s and they have been visiting the beautiful island of Malta for the past 50 years.

During their first trip in November 1959 they stayed at the Hotel Phoenicia. They had been on a trip to West Africa and on the way home decided to stop off in Malta. They really enjoyed their first trip, so much so that they have practically holidayed there year after year, pretty much staying at the same hotel.

It seems very strange that you would really want to return to the same country every single year. With so many wonderful and fascinating countries to explore; it seems quite weird that they haven’t visited any other places for their holidays.

Mind you, at least they know that their holiday accommodation will be alright, sometimes you just can’t be sure what you are letting yourself in for and it can ruin the whole holiday.

The good thing is we all enjoy doing different things on holiday.Lots of people simply enjoy spending 2 weeks sitting around the pool, enjoying their guaranteed sunshine.Others like to try something completely different and just that little bit crazy.Nowadays there is such a huge choice of different adventures just waiting for us all to take up our personal challenges.

For example maybe you have always dreamed of taking a nice relaxing walking holiday.Maybe it might be worth considering visiting Spain’s Rioja region and taking in some of the beautiful landscapes

The scenery is absolutely amazing and you get to stay at some lovely inns and hotels suring your holiday.

This is just one of thousands of different holiday destinations you could choose to travel to.Personally for me I am more than pleased with my 2 week break in the sunshine, sipping yet another Gin and Tonic whilst taking it easy on my sunbed.  I don’t really want to go on an Active Holiday and to be honest my daily argument with fellow  holidaymakers over who gets the best sunbed is quite enough excitement for me.
