How To Travel The World And Find Yourself

We all know how stressed and tired you get when the year is drawing to a close. With the current economic circumstances many people find it hard to make ends meet and to pay the bills. Some even have to make use of a debt consolidation service to keep the creditors happy. Some try their hand at part-time trading and spend days waiting for the perfect forex signal to make a winning trade. Sooner or later you have to take a break from all this. Sooner or later you have to call it a day, put the laptop in the laptop bag and go traveling to recharge your system!

There is nothing that will recharge your batteries like 3 weeks in a foreign place. A place where there is no stress; where you can get up as late as you want and go to bed as late as you want. Where for three weeks you can eat as much ice cream as you want and where nobody complains if you eat no veggies.

Somewhere during this process of trying to adjust to all the ‘foreignness’ you will one day suddenly notice that a whole day passed without you thinking of your worries back home. And then another… And soon the problems that looked so massive from nearby will fade into the distance like smoke..

People in other places do things differently. And this is one of the reasons why traveling will give you a new perspective on life. You will gradually realize that you don’t have to eat at 6pm every night and go to bed at ten. That people in Buenos Aires seldom eat before ten and often go to bed at three. Your firm conviction to always talk softly will be shaken when you meet many people who talk very loudly and who seem to much happier than you are.

To travel is to broaden your mind like very few other things can ever manage. You will learn that there is not just one way to do things. That you don’t always need the most expensive car and the biggest house to be happy. Somewhere on your travels you will meet people with little earthly possessions who are happier than you could ever imagine.

If you travel often, to many different places, you will in the end be able to look at your own country, its people and even your own life as an outsider. To see things in perspective again.

The things that seemed so important to you in your own life only a few short weeks ago, might suddenly seem trivial. You might lose prejudices you had for a lifetime, but you will gain perspective that you never had.
