Banish The Basic BBQ

It seems beyond belief but we are already mid-way through the year, and more importantly halfway through summer season. As I sit writing this on a late-July morning, the sky is grey, a stiff breezing is creeping in through the office window and, yes, it looks like a storm is brewing. A typical British summer day then!

Although this year has been slightly kinder to us than 2009, it still feels as though we have not been treated to a proper summer, it has been largely dry but inconsistent temperatures have foiled our sunbathing ambitions. Before long we’ll be having adverts thrust upon us, kindly informing us that it’s time to think about Christmas gifts. For me, summer is not over yet, we still have a potential 8 weeks of good weather left so don’t barricade the BBQ’s at the back your garage just yet, get out there and have some fun!

There are a range of giadgets on sale at the moment made to make your summer that bit more enjoyable. Everyone loves a good BBQ but how do you make yours the best in town? How about installing a few hammocks in your garden? Give your back yard a tropical theme by hanging up these temporary outdoor beds between two trees or any other freestanding structure, these would also make fantastic gifts for her. Impress your guests by presenting their bevvies in frozen ice tumblers, with a far superior lasting power to that of plain old-fashioned ice cubes or crushed ice, these will keep your wine and spirits cold for longer, as well as making you look damn cool!

As the piece de resistance, make the central feature of your garden gathering an iPod wireless speaker dock with an equalizer sound bar, these make perfect gifts for him and with the slick looking blue equalizer graphic on the front, you guests will be green with envy. Use this to churn out some banging beats and your BBQ will have that special something to get yours mates and family flocking to your back yard. With all the great gadgets on show just make sure you don’t ruin it by burning the sausages!
